This look says ‘I am following the trend yet keeping it simple.’ I know ruffles is one of the biggest trends this year. I used to think I am not one to follow trends but it is difficult to shop when almost all stores have collections based on the current trend. The only thing is that I continue to wear my clothes even when the trend becomes old news.
Last I was in Zara, I couldn’t find one piece that did not have ruffles or embroidery. I came home empty handed from a Zara sale (shocker). I was chatting with a friend who was asking for clothing recommendations that weren’t polyester or had ruffles. The ruffles part cracked me up. And I get it, not everyone loves ruffles. So this post clearly isn’t for them. This ruffle skirt from Romwe obviously checks out on all the trends but the reason I like it is for the color and stripes. It looks like an office shirt converted into a skirt and strangely I like that. I like the movement in this skirt and the bow tie in the front adds the right cuteness quotient. I was expecting it to be a cotton blend and it isn’t anywhere close to cotton. There are no styling points for this look because as you can see everything else is very basic.
